2010 - 11 player bios

Player: Julia “How Bright?” Albright
Home Team: Philadelphia Eagles

Stats: Has held the Lucky 13th place almost every week that she has played, Average weekly score of 8

Bio: New to the league this week (week 4), “How Bright” Albright is now our 15th player in the game!

Week 9 – If only she had chosen the Eagles, Julia would have tied with Amanda for the joint victory.  Maybe next week then...

∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞

Player: Kim “Don’t call me Kimmy” (Allen) Wise
Home Team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Stats: Winner week 2, held the #1 spot for multiple weeks, holds the record for least points in a week (4 points, week 5), only player to change her name during the season, average weekly score of 9

Bio: Possibly the most dedicated player in the game, Kim has requested her score sheet for the next two weeks come early so that she will not miss a week due to something as silly as a honeymoon.

Week 3 finds that Mrs. Wise was wise enough to take the overall lead.

Week 9 – Now in 8th place, DCMK has had enough of the middle of the pack and decided to attempt to rise in the ranks.  This could be a real possibility as the Stillers face off against the Pats next week.

∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞

Player: “Coach” Carrie Ancharski
Home Team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Stats: Has chosen against her home team more often than anyone else, average weekly score of 9

Bio: With more cunning and ice cold strategy in her little finger than most others would dare to bring themselves to, “Coach” Carrie has twice now forgone her own Steelers, and taken a more realistic approach to the game.  It paid off last week and she ended tied for 3rd.  How will this week rank?

Week 2 finds “Coach” Carrie still in the hunt and still tied for 3rd place with Seth in the overall standings.  There must be some type of “laying low strategery” at work here…

Week 3 was not as great a week for the Coach, but don’t ever count her out.  She knows what she’s doing…

Week 9 - Never to be one to fold under pressure, Coach is faced with the same tough match-up as DCMK and FOF this week. With the only exception being that she is known to choose against her team when it seems more feasible.

Week 11 - Foiled by the Eagles again...

∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞

Player: Matt “Bitner Rules!” Bitner
Home Team: Philadelphia Eagles

Stats: Winner of weeks 6 and 11, first recipient of the Golden Elephant, average weekly score of 11

Bio: “Bitner Rules!”

∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞

Player: Dan “The Man” Bogrette
Home Team: New England Patriots

Stats: Winner of week 7, awarded coach’s challenge, average weekly score of 8

Bio: Maybe the only person on the planet who thinks that Tom Brady is still a genius with that ridiculous haircut, Dan is a die hard Pats fan and after last week’s showing it looks to be a fair bet that the Jets don’t have much hope this week.

So, I guess I was wrong…along with everyone else who has a TV…

Week 3 – Coach’s challenge placed…call overturned.  Loss of two points awarded.

Week 9 – The man has decided to take a break, his scores will be on hold till notified…

∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞

Player: Seth “Trick” Deitrick
Home Team: Philadelphia Eagles

Stats: Winner week 8 and 10, held #1 spot for multiple weeks, first player to break 100 points, average weekly score of 11

Bio: Upon creating this “simple” football pool, “Trick” had no idea how big and beautiful it would become.  Despite his Eagles loss last week, Kolb taking a beating and Vick named as the game’s leading rusher; he has high hopes for this week.

∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞

Player: Karen “New Fish” Fisher
Home Team: Washington Redskins

Stats: Winner week 10, Still a fan of the Skins, average weekly score of 7

Bio: New to the league this week, Karen looks to make a place for herself.

Week 3 – Karen finds herself in last place, but with a fair showing of 7 points, I doubt that she will hold this place very long.

∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞

Player: Ashley “Gensel Washington
Home Team: Philadelphia Eagles

Stats: Purchaser of an awesome jersey, winner weeks 10 and 11, first of two players (Cameron) to win consecutive weeks, average weekly score of 9

Bio: As if Christmas was announced to happen each Sunday from now on, Gensel could not love football more.  Her Eagles have a lot to live up to this week.

Week 2 was a close one.  Santa almost forgot that 4 seconds is not a lot of time…

Injuries and then recoveries; who cares?  It all comes down to …We beat the Colts!!

Week 10 – Nothing like kicking it off with an 88 yard touchdown

Week 11 – double win! Nice dive Eli…

∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞

Player: Rebecca “Steve” Krausse
Home Team: Philadelphia Eagles

Stats: Winner weeks 5 and 10, #1 spot for multiple weeks, average weekly score of 10

Bio: With a completely unpredictable system for choosing teams, “Steve” was the definite dark horse last week.  Watch out, “Big” Jim!

If “Big” Jim had been worried this week, it should have been about his own picks.  “Steve’s” system was not working for her this week.

Steve must have been layin’ the cut because she moved back into a top overall spot again and even ended up in second place for week 3.

Week 4 - down again, up again...

∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞

Player: Georgie “Inferno” Long
Home Team: Philadelphia Eagles

Stats: Most amount of chosen upsets, average weekly score of 8

Bio: With even more random choices than Rebecca, the “Inferno” finds herself in the middle of the pack after one week.  A few of this week’s choices are a real risk.  Georgie could find herself with a great gap between her and the rest of the group, but will it be with the lead or a loss?

Week 2 - The Jets, huh? Who knew?

Week 3 – Moving back up the ranks, the choices are working for her…what will she do next?

∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞

Player: “Big” Jim Miller
Home Team: Washington Redskins

Stats: Winner weeks 1 and 7, only player to have won more than one week, winner of the golden elephant, held the #1 spot for the most time (5 weeks), average weekly score of 9

Bio: Virtually dominating most things that he attempts, “Big” Jim jumped out of the gate with a win on the first week.  Can he hold onto that lead on week two?  With only two powerful exceptions and the up-and-coming Chiefs, he has chosen an all home team roster.

Even with a poor showing this week, “Big” Jim’s lead from last week still has him tied for 1st place overall.  How long can he hold the top spot?

Week 3 – Even missing a week does not deter “Big” Jim too much, leaving Kim a little breathing space till Sunday…

Week 4 – Taking a page from the “Coach’s” book, Big Jim goes with the Eagles instead of the Skins guaranteeing a point for the game.  Turns out he should have stuck to his guns and he would have earned another point…

∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞

Player: Cameron “The Ninja” Mitchell
Home Team: Philadelphia Eagles

Stats: Winner of week 6, 10 and 11, first of two players (Ashley) to win consecutive weeks, first to win 3 weeks, has yet to win without tying, can do the most push-ups in the league, average weekly score of 11

Bio: Don’t ever underestimate “The Ninja.” I mean, like EVER.

Slowly inching his way up the ladder like a Ninja traversing castle walls…

Moving craftily and quietly he climbs up two more spots.

The Ninja could have survived that “Vick Sandwich.”  But alas, not poor Michael.

The Ninja moves to the 2nd overall place.  The hand strikes and gives a flower.

∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞

Player: Randa “They Call Me Kid” Ross
Home Team: Tennessee Titans

Stats: Winner of week 3, average weekly score of 9

Bio: New to the game this week, “Kid” Ross has a bit of ground to make up.  Let’s see how her choices work for her this week.

Most of us, even including the “Coach” believed in the Titans…but alas.

Week 4 - Fourth place!

∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞

Player: Amanda “Fashion over Function” Selvenis
Home Team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Stats: Winner of week 9, average weekly score of 7

Bio: Making selections of uniform over talent earned Amanda a cool 6 points last week.  How will week two stack up on the grass runway?

Some pretty good picks for the end of summer line …

When even Keisel can score, that is a blowout.

Week 4 finds “FOF” with the least amount of points yet.  Even the Stillers could not pull this week out.

Week 9 – Winner! You know it…

∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞  ∞

Player: “Giant” James Stettler
Home Team: New York Giants

Stats: Winner of weeks 4 and 10, average weekly score of 9

Bio: While Stettler has allegiances all over the east coast, the Giants find themselves with a fan who loves the game and landed a second place slot last week.

Well, the good news is that he gets to keep the helmet after all…

Week 4 – I think the Giants are due…I was right. Eli finds himself 2-2 and The "Giant" finds himself a winner!

Week 11 – Where did Manning learn to dive that gracefully?  So pretty…
